Welcome!

Welcome to the K-State KAWSE Office’s networking webpage for women post-docs in STEM fields. This page is designed to coordinate networking, communication, and professional development between participants in the KAWSE post-doc luncheons. On these pages, you can meet the participants, view our brown-bag luncheon schedule, and find links to other programs by KAWSE.

The K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering (KAWSE, pronounced ’cause’) works to increase the participation, retention and advancement of girls and women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The office serves as home of the ADVANCE, SUCCEED, EXCITE! and GROW programs. These programs promote women’s participation, retention, and advancement in STEM fields from middle school to tenure-track faculty.

For post-doctoral women, the KAWSE ADVANCE program holds weekly brown-bag luncheons which focus on networking with other post-doc women, attending professional development seminars, and discuss the issues that affect women in STEM throughout our future careers. If you have questions, you are free to contact the KAWSE Director, Dr. Chardie Baird at kawse@ksu.edu, or the post-doctoral ambassadors Dr. Janet Paper at paperjan@ksu.edu, and Dr. Karen Alviar at kbalviar@ksu.edu.
